Jotura

Every feature earns its place.

What Jotura does today, and why it works the way it does.

Writing

Write without thinking about markdown.

Headings, lists, tables, checklists. The formatting appears as you type, and there is nothing to memorize. Underneath it all, every note is a plain file that will still open in fifty years. Flip to source whenever you want to see it.

Beyond markdown

Every file in the folder, not just the notes.

Code, SQL, CSV, config, plain text: they open right in Jotura, in a proper code editor with syntax highlighting for over a hundred languages, autosaved and synced like your notes. And HTML files render as a safe visual page, scripts off, with the source one click away. Your vault can hold a whole project, not just what you wrote about it.

Finding

Search by what you meant.

Type a title, or a phrase you half-remember, and the right note appears before you finish typing. Ask for the note about the loft insulation quote and Jotura finds it, even if you never wrote those words. A small model on your own computer understands what your notes are about, so it costs you nothing in privacy.

Yours

Yours. Actually yours.

Your notes live in an ordinary folder on your computer. Open them with any app, back them up your way, keep them forever. There is no export button because you never gave them away. Turn on sync and they follow you to every device, encrypted before they leave. Mac, Windows, Linux, and Android.

History

Every version, kept.

Delete a paragraph on Tuesday, want it back on Friday. Every synced note keeps its history for three years: what changed, who changed it, and one click to bring anything back.

Sharing

Share what you choose.

Share one folder, or a single note, with the people you pick. You all see it, you all edit it, and simultaneous changes merge on their own. It stays encrypted for exactly those people and no one else.

Needs Jotura Sync on both sides, yours and theirs. £4 a month each.

And three things you only notice by their absence.

Documents too.

Drop in a PDF, a Word file, a spreadsheet. It lives next to your notes, and you can find it by what it says inside, not just its name.

Nothing to wait for.

Notes open the instant you click. Search answers as fast as you type. Nothing you do is ever waiting on the internet.

Private. Properly.

No analytics, no tracking, no anonymous usage data, no ads. Jotura touches the internet for one reason: syncing your encrypted notes, and only after you ask it to.
